Strong Leadership. Greater Impact.

The Ballplayers Foundation is proud to welcome new members to our Board of Directors, further strengthening our leadership as we continue to grow our impact and expand access to youth sports.

These individuals bring a powerful combination of business leadership, nonprofit experience, and a shared passion for empowering young athletes. Their guidance will play an important role in helping us reach more families and deepen our impact across the communities we serve.

Alan Khoriaty is an entrepreneur with a track record of building successful business ventures. Most recently, he is the founder of Our Village, an innovative education collective that combines academics, enrichment, and community in a supportive, hands-on learning environment.

With a passion for youth development and access to opportunity, Alan brings a strong commitment to empowering families and supporting the next generation. He joins the Board with a shared belief in the power of sports to positively shape young lives.

Greg Schaefer is the founder and former president of Schaefer Enterprises, Inc., a boutique Manhattan-based insurance agency he grew into a nationally respected firm before its successful sale in 2019.

A former Division I basketball player and 19-time Ironman competitor, Greg brings a unique blend of business leadership, discipline, and resilience. As a father of two young athletes, he is deeply committed to creating opportunities for youth to grow through sports and believes that grit—not circumstance—defines success.

Morgana Nieves is a multicultural social impact leader whose bilingual and international background shape her work at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital Foundation and the Latin GRAMMY Cultural Foundation, supporting underrepresented communities through access to care, Latin music education, and cultural preservation.

Morgana also brings entertainment industry experience from public relations for Sandals & Beaches Resorts in hospitality and travel and brand management for iHeartRadio, giving her a 360-degree view of how media, culture, and giving intersect.

She is a PhD candidate at Indiana University’s Lilly Family School of Philanthropy and the founder of Spotlight, an entertainment philanthropy consultancy turning influence into social impact. She lives in Miami, Florida with her husband and two children.

As a 100% volunteer-run organization, the addition of these accomplished leaders marks an important step forward. Their experience, insight, and shared commitment to our mission will help guide the Ballplayers Foundation as we continue to remove financial barriers and create opportunities for young athletes to thrive.
